Piazza San Simpliciano
ETHEA MDW 26
The message is clear and immediate: “You are entering the colorful world of Manerba.”
Designed collaboratively by Ilaria Marelli Design and Samuele Savio of Choice-Studio, the Manerba showroom installation is an invitation to be enveloped and moved by the gentle power of color.
Choice-Studio handled the graphics, lighting, and the colorful spatial envelope; the designer of ETHEA tuned into this vision by creating a layout and selecting furnishings with a color palette capable of generating a positive and lively atmosphere.
Samuele Savio states: “For years, color has been an important value emerging from Manerba furniture; through the use of vibrant colors on the walls, we have given the space the same value as the product.”
Ilaria Marelli says: “We staged the ETHEA collection across two levels. On the first, the product is almost bare—essential, crisp, abstract, like in a museum setting. On the second, it is more contextualized, practical, and concrete. In both, the dialogue of chromatic elements and product tones plays and reflects within the colors of the architecture.”

A project in which every combination of color, material, and finish achieves expressive flexibility on both a design and aesthetic level.

Freedom Space, by Federica Biasi
For Milan Design Week, Manerba introduces “Freedom Space”, a temporary installation by Federica Biasi in the showroom in Piazza San Simpliciano in the Brera District.
The visitor will discover the new “Super Random” system designed by Gio Tirotto moving between various islands: whether they are the intimate spaces created with armchairs and sofas of Federica Biasi’s “Kokoro” system, or strictly operational spaces fitted with Shane Schneck’s “Apollo” elevating rationalist desks or spaces for “separate sharing” of Busetti Garutti Redaelli’s large “Amis” tables.
Manerba Midsummer Exhibition Milan Design Week, from 6th to 12th June 2022 Manerba’s Showroom Piazza San Simpliciano, Brera District
Manerba at Fuorisalone 2022:
Bucolic atmospheres of conviviality
It’s inspired by the celebration of Midsummer, an ancient festival that falls on the Summer solstice, the floral display at the Manerba’s showroom in Piazza San Simpliciano during Milan Design Week 2022.
Anticipating the watershed between the Winter and Summer seasons by a few weeks (this year’s Milan Design Week takes place exceptionally from 6th to 12th June), Federica Biasi, Manerba’s art director, decided to take inspiration from the celebration of nature’s cycles in choosing the concept.
The lightness of a shared joyful moment, the romanticism of long Summer days, the warm hues of wheat fields will be evoked by the new setting, which will enhance the conviviality of the new collections of furniture for workspaces, co-working, co-living and workspitality.
The natural sobriety of the setting for the presentation of the new 2022 products is consistent with the theme of sustainability, which Manerba has pursued since its origins, namely respect for the environment, as demonstrated by the company’s many certifications, including the FSC certification.
Integrations for the “Kokoro” meeting & seating system by Federica Biasi; a new highly functional glass wall system “Luce” designed by Paolo Pampanoni, which can be fitted with shelves, curtains and acoustic panels; the ergonomic “Lia” and “Yuma” chairs, designed for office and home office; the harmonious “Giunco” modular wooden screen by Deamicisarchitetti.
With the formal cleanliness and sobriety that distinguish Manerba’s style and design, each covering, colour and finish reflects the imagery of natural shades, from sand to orange.

With an 80% female team, a careful focus on sustainability and the green economy, it is part of its industrial DNA to support to architects and interior designers (thanks to a specialized Technical Office) for any type of project, as confirmed by the many projects.

The company, founded in Mantua by Sergio and Federica Manerba in 1969, while retaining the original imprint of “beautiful and accurately manufactured”, managed to interpret the deep changes in the world of the office, a mirror of the technological, social, and cultural revolution that in half a century changed the lives of human beings.
Manerba was labelled as the “tailor of offices”: a workshop where design, industry and crafts coexist. A company made up of 80% women, led by the two tenacious and competent sisters, Elisa and Grazia and the founder Federica Manerba.

The art direction of the collections is entrusted to Federica Biasi and confirms the chromatic harmony, the aesthetic balance, the technical care and the attention to the distribution in the space of different types of products (seats, systems, tables, screens, partition walls) able to furnish both workspaces at home and shared workspaces.

Manerba’s projects combine craftsmanship and industrial strength. A unique soul matching the excellence of the Boutique with the capacity of the Industry. It aims at furnishing a harmonious, non-standardized, highly customizable workspace that puts everyone in a position to feel good and work efficiently.

The raw materials of the collections are chosen on the basis of their recyclability. Recycled wood and FSC® are used (coming from forests managed correctly and responsibly according to strict environmental, social, and economic standards) then aluminium and glass, all materials are assembled with disassembly logic to dispose of them according to ISO14001 procedures.
The Manerba R&D division is constantly striving for certified sustainable materials. The company is committed to using more and more CAM certified products according to minimum environmental criteria.
It also uses VOC-free epoxy powder paints (volatile organic compounds) for painting.
The packaging is contained to the maximum, in order to optimize dimensions and transport costs with consequent benefits for emissions.

The atmosphere of the Milanese single-brand showroom in Piazza San Simpliciano in Brera, in the days of the Fuorisalone 2022, recalls bucolic atmospheres of conviviality.

Hinoki: screens and partitions to separate “without dividing”
We are learning that in order to return to leaving in peace in shared spaces, for some time, we necessarily must be subject to new rules of social distance to assure everyone’s safety.
At office or in the gym, in a shop or at a restaurant, in the queue at the reception or in the outdoor area of a bar, at the hairdresser or the beauty center, everyone asks for security without having the feeling of being in a fish tank.
MANERBA has developed, in collaboration with Federica Biasi, Hinoki, elements in order to separate without dividing.
A series of screens and dividing partitions, which are freestanding if they are on the ground or hooked to structures if they are applied to a desktop.
They are modular structure which divide spaces with the purpose of making people feel as little separated monad as possible.
The touch of the color, the semitrasparency of the material and the simplicity of the design make Hinoki a family dividing element which can be easily integrated in several locations.
Hinoki is a polycarbonate semitransparent panel which is set in a metal structure with a flat freestanding section, on the ground or on castors, powder coated in several Manerba lacquered finishes in order to chromatically coordinate it with other collections of the catalogue.
The choice of the material, the polycarbonate, is due to its resistance, flexibility and refractoriness to the use, the scratches and the chemical agents.
Hinoki will be made also in other materials such as glass, plexiglass, cork, magnetic board, wood and with the possibility to be upholstered with fabric with sound-absorbing features. It could be customized in the size and personalized with hooks, elastic bands, magnets and moving coat rack.

Wonder Office Salone del Mobile. Milano
Salone del Mobile.Milano
9-14 April 2019
Hall 6 Stand C31
Manerba, 50 years of Evolving Offices.
Female energy at the Salone del Mobile for a flexible and desirable wonder office.
Manerba attends the 58th edition of Salone del Mobile, with a project based on the business heritage of the company, that celebrates this year the fiftieth annyversary of its establishment, to propose a “boutique” vision of the office, a wonder office dreamed of and desired by each one of us, and above all a friendly one (in a set up arranged by Studio Milo). Every material, finish, shade is not accidental but functional to its definition, to accomplish a highly customizable harmonic workspace, which we would all like to experience in order to work well.
Manerba will welcome the visitors of the Salone in Hall 6 with the involvement of a cosmopolitan design “voice”, Philippe Nigro, who designed Stem for the evolving offices company: not a simple bookcase, but a microarchitectural structure, 3 elements: columns, crossbeams and shelves, from which an “infinity system” of design solutions for the office develops and sprouts in height as in width (and in time): containing bookcase, partition, wardrobe, “acoustic device”, lounge area … precisely like the leaves from the stem.
The thirty-year-old designer Federica Biasi has been appointed the company’s creative direction, symbolically entrusted to her in the year of the fiftieth anniversary, with the aim of creating a young and contemporary, feminine and elegant style, able to interpret and satisfy the new ways of living and working. Each product combines in a coherent way, enhancing the creative expression of Manerba and its concept of gentle total office, attentive to the well-being of the individual and the recovery of the privacy sphere, even in open and co-working environments.
Simply we do not work as we did 50 years ago, but not even as last year. The office is not dead, has reinvented itself. It is more and more transversal, as devices have moved them elsewhere: in museums, airports, hotel lobbies, cafés, co-working… And for Manerba changing and evolving using the so typically feminine intuition and kindness represent the art de vivre, rather the art de travailler.
